The Digi9 controller is a recently released product, designed on the shoulders of 20 years experience in CNC and motion control. Todays microcontrollers, having all the processing power of a PC just a few years old, provide new and exciting opportunities in the design of our controllers. Our design criteria insisted on a purpose designed product that is rugged in its physical and electronic design, seamless in operation and versatile in its abundant features.
The Digi9 drive card (low power version shown here) utilises powerful digital technology that communicates its complete status to the controller. This includes its motors position, index signal, homing switch signal, current overload failure, following error and status of its 2 user inputs. All power supplies are on board which minimises the amount of external wiring reducing costs of installations and enhancing reliability. Quality saturation detection technology is employed to protect the amplifier from extreme abuse.
Our Digi9 system consists of drive cards for the axes, tool changers etc, the spindle and the controller itself. This elegant uncomplicated architecture allows a minimal amount of wiring thereby reducing installation costs and enhances reliability.
